The Romans politically controlled the known world about two thousand years ago, integrated Greek civilization, and created an empire that laid the foundations of Western civilization. They imported all kinds of foods from all over the known world. Roman ships carried essential food, such as wheat and wine, as well as a variety of spices from as far away as China, to satisfy the Romans’ appetite for exotic ingredients. Roman cooking habits fascinated and influenced generations in the centuries that followed. The fall of the Roman Empire was caused by unstoppable waves of invasions, barbarians who came from as far away as Tibet. The invaders destroyed the old empire, but they also took with them new cooking customs. It took centuries before some order was restored and medieval peoples could begin to rebuild something that could be called today as the most complete, flavorful and popular cuisine of all. This is my tribute to more than two thousand years of heritage, traditions and influences, linking other great cultures and quality basic products, with old techniques, and today's newest technologies. The first part of a limited Deluxe culinary trilogy edition. Only 2000 personally signed copies will be available globally and in English only, as an attempt to cater this masterpiece to the real connoisseurs only and to those around the globe who truly love, appreciate, understand and have passion for Italian cuisine, fusions and cultural globalization. I hope you'll enjoy reading it and cooking my recipes as much as I enjoyed making this book. This book has been published since January 2011 and it is available worldwide.
