The Luchtballon Foundation was born out of the work of the Dutch Asthma Foundation. This fund organized in several places in our country camps for children with asthma. When the Asthma Foundation here it stopped, took a group of enthusiastic volunteers of the former camps and went about the initiative as a whole independent foundation further. Thus, in 1984, "The Luchtballon Foundation" was established. They bought the materials from the Dutch Asthma Fund and hired always a central area to the camps to continue.

Feeding Children Everywhere
2012 - Longwood, Florida - United States of America
Helping: Children in the U.S.A., Central America, South America, Africa and India.
Chef Gianfranco Chiarini cooperates with his donations and book royalties to support the cause of Feeding Children Everywhere, based in the United States of America. Feeding Children Everywhere was founded in 2010, but started much earlier in the hearts of founders Don and Kristen Campbell. To date, FCE has sent over 20 million meals around the world and worked with over 60,000 volunteers to hand-package healthy lentil casseroles.
Our Mission: Feeding Children Everywhere is a social charity that empowers and mobilizes people to assemble healthy meals for hungry children.
The Movement: This is the story of the Feeding Children Everywhere movement and how it began…
1. The Movement Begins: Events in founder Don Campbell’s life made him the man of the house at an early age. As a result, Don became the family chef at 10 years old and has been inviting people to share in his love of food and fellowship ever since. Don has always had an open table policy, and is humbled to have mentored and fed hundreds of children from his own dining room table.
2. The Haiti Earthquake: After the 2010 earthquake in Haiti Don Campbell and his wife Kristen decided they had to get involved. So they decided to partner with a food aid organization to send meals to Haiti. Inspired, the Campbell's scraped together their $9,000 life savings and founded Feeding Children Everywhere. With the help of dedicated friends and volunteers the movement began.
3. 90 Days Later: Just 90 days after starting the Feeding Children Everywhere movement, they were able to ship the first 250,000 meal container into Haiti. Open Door Haiti became the first school that Feeding Children Everywhere would partner with during the movement.
4. The Movement: Hits a Milestone By November 2011, Feeding Children Everywhere had shipped over 5 million meals. These meals have been sent to hungry and starving children on four continents throughout the world. Schools and orphanages have been able to nearly triple in size because of the meals supplied to their program.
5. Love Local: In late 2011, 60 Minutes aired a segment called Hard Times Generation: Homeless Children. It featured a boy and a girl named Arielle and Austin. They were homeless in the Campbell’s hometown. Heartbroken by the story, Feeding Children Everywhere created a program called Love Local to combat hunger here at home. The Campbell’s were inspired to make sure that every family could go to a dinner table with food on it.
6. The Movement Today: Love Local was launched in January 2012. Feeding Children Everywhere will ship millions of meals this year to fill crisis food pantries in local schools. In that time, schools have been sponsored, bellies have been filled, and people have made a meaningful difference.
7. The Need: The need is to put 100 million meals in crisis food pantries at public schools around the US each year. We believe that every child in the United States, and around the world should have sustainable access to food.

Amici di Adwa Onlus
2010 - Adwa Tigray, Ethiopia
Helping: Children in East Africa.
Chef Gianfranco Chiarini cooperates with his donations and book royalties to support the cause of Amici Adwa Onlus Mission, based in Ethiopia. The origins of the mission date back to 1994, when Sister Laura Girotto was sent to Adwa by Mother Marinella Castagno, then Mother Superior General, of the order of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
Everything had to be built from scratch; only the boundary around the land for the future mission existed back then. When a small group of Salesian nuns arrived, work began on the building of the mission in the town of Adwa.
